Terms of Service

1. What this service is

ReadMyPetsMind lets you upload a photo of a pet and receive a funny caption written by an AI, presented as a shareable card. It is operated by ReadMyPetsMind ("we", "us"). You can reach us at readmypetsmind@gmail.com.

2. It's entertainment, and nothing more

The captions are made up. They are generated by an AI for amusement. They are not a translation of your pet, not an insight into your pet's mind, and not a statement of fact about anything in the photograph.

Nothing here is veterinary, medical, behavioural or professional advice. If a caption seems to say something about your animal's health, mood or behaviour, that is a coincidence of the joke. If you have any concern about your pet, speak to a vet. Never make a decision about an animal's care based on anything this site produces.

AI systems are unpredictable. A caption may be inaccurate, repetitive, nonsensical, or land badly. We make no promise about the quality, suitability or humour of any caption, and there's no guarantee any two will be different.

3. The photos you upload

By uploading a photo you confirm that:

You keep all rights in your photo. We don't claim ownership of it and we don't store it — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what happens to it. You grant us only the temporary permission needed to process it and produce your caption.

The caption and the card produced are yours to use, including commercially and on social media. Note that under current law, AI output may not be protected by copyright in some countries, so you may not be able to stop others reusing it.

4. How you may use the service

Please don't:

We may block access if you do any of this. There's no account to close, so blocking is generally the only remedy available to us.

5. Free use and paid unlocks

A limited number of captions are free. After that you may make a one-off payment for continued access and additional features, including premium voices.

6. Availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. It depends on third parties (Anthropic, Supabase, Cloudflare, ElevenLabs, Stripe), and if they have problems, so do we.

7. Affiliate links

Some product links are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed next to the links. We're not responsible for third-party products, sellers, or anything that happens on their sites.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, data, goodwill or reputation, arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ten dollars (US $10).

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you're a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the new version.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be dealt with by the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you agree to those courts having jurisdiction.
